In this modern world, computers are an important part of daily life. Many people use computers for work, communication, education, and entertainment. In the learning process there is interaction that occurs between students and teachers. This is because students and teachers are elements of learning activities(Perbawa and Rapiyanta 2024). Learning about computers from a young age helps children develop useful skills that they can use in school and in the future.
Computer learning teaches students how to use technology safely and correctly. Elementary students can learn basic skills such as typing, using a mouse, opening programs, saving files, and searching for information. According to UNICEF Digital Education, digital learning helps children build important 21st-century skills and supports better learning opportunities for students around the world.
BENEFIT USING COMPUTER FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT
The benefit of computer learning is the development of creativity and problem-solving skills. Students can use computers to create stories, presentations, posters, and simple games. Coding activities such as Scratch encourage students to think logically and solve problems step by step. These activities make learning more interactive and enjoyable for elementary school students.
Computer education also supports learning in other subjects. Students can use technology to research science topics, create charts in mathematics, and improve writing skills in language lessons. Digital tools make lessons more interesting and help students understand concepts more easily.
In addition, students learn about digital citizenship and internet safety. Elementary school students should understand how to use the internet responsibly, protect personal information, and communicate politely online. These lessons help children become responsible and safe technology users.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, computer learning in elementary school is very important because it helps students develop digital skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and responsible internet behavior. Early computer education prepares children for future education and careers while helping them become active and confident learners in the digital age.
